Announcing Enterprise Workflow Manager v1.5
Denton, TX -- Feb 28, 2003 --

Infranet today announces the general availability of Enterprise Workflow Manager (EWM) version 1.5. Version 1.5 enhancements include unlimited nested workflow sub-processes. multi-threaded sub-processes, sub-process looping, per-step conditionals, support for a new 'process manager role' and enhanced usability throughout.

With EWM version 1.5 Infranet provides complete workflow automation for mission-critical, and not so critical, business processes in a cost-effective and flexible manner.

The industry is today stressing the importance of using 'web services' and 'xml' to integrate enterprises and transact business amongst clients, vendors and suppliers. Infranet believes that corporations must automate a great majority of their internal business processes before integration between clients, suppliers and vendors can be possible.

EWM provides the most flexible and cost-effective way to automate these processes and streamline a company's internal operations. EWM allows integration between new automated workflows and existing legacy systems at any point business process. Any legacy system that has any type of OPEN API can be integrated with EWM which eliminates major re-engineering of those systems.

Benefits
EWM version 1.5 brings a completely new level of sophistication to the types of business processes that can be automated using EWM. Using conditionals and branching, process designers can now build entire sub-processes that are only called when business rules dictate the need. This means that virtually any business process that exists today can be automated using EWM.
Unlimited, nested, multi-threaded sub-processes
EWM 1.5 introduces support for sub-processes or branching. A sub-process can be triggered at any point of any process or sub-process to organize a set of steps into an organized "branch" of the process. This sub-process can then be conditionally executed based on any criteria desired through the use of per-step conditionals. Each sub-process can be triggered as a synchronous or asynchronous branch.
Sub-Process Looping
Any sub-process can be set to conditionally loop over that sub-process until some condition is true.
Per-Step Conditionals
EWM now supports the ability to define an expression that is evaluated before a step is executed. If the expression is not true, EWM can either skip the step entirely or wait until the condition is true before executing the step. The conditional is available to every step type in the system. This feature allows for complete control over every step in a process.
Process Manager Role
The Process Manager Role can be defined so a user can see a report of open and closed processes, view and process any request in the queue, but not receive emails regarding each request as it comes into the system. This role was created to facilitate tracking of throughput and requests.
Enhanced Usability
The "My Requests" page has been completely overhauled to make it easier and quicker for a user to view open / processing requests as needed. The request detail page was also overhauled to make it user friendly and decrease the need for vertical scrolling. Other improvements were made to facilitate the ability to move quickly through requests for high volume processors.
